Dark Oracle Sage & KC Bonilla Successfully Defend Titles at 'ALIVE 25' Fundraiser for City Recreation Program
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Wrestling fans in Middlesex County were treated to hard-hitting holiday action during IWF 'ALIVE 25' 25th Anniversary Live Event Tour on December 10, 2022 at New Brunswick Middle School in New Brunswick, NJ.
Thanks to the efforts of IWF fans, wrestlers, staff and sponsors, approximately $1,500 was raised for City of New Brunswick Recreation Program.
The headline attraction saw IWF Heavyweight Champion Dark Oracle Sage retain his crown in a Triple Threat Elimination Match by defeating WWE Legend Nunzio and All-American Robert Atkins, with manager East Side Dave McDonald. After a well-coordinated distraction by East Side Dave, Atkins pinned Nunzio. After a second outside interference attempt by McDonald backfired, Sage scored the 1-2-3 on Atkins much to the delight of the fans.
In the co-feature, IWF Tag Team Champion Master of Chaos Kevin Knight, with WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana in his corner, defeated Benjamin T. Asher, with manager East Side Dave McDonald, in a wild New Brunswick Brawl No Disqualification Match.
In a friends-turned-rivals contest, IWF American Champion Supersonic KC Bonilla defeated The Headline Justin Bongiovi to retain the gold.
In singles action, The Punisher Zay Spaulding was victorious against Jason Hendrix, while Mad King Glenn Burgess upended rookie Julian Mendez. In tag team action, Rico Gold and Cacique Tone, with bodyguard Lethan Ray, conquered Eric Perez and Ezon Leverett.
New Jersey Broadcasters Association Hall of Famer Bert Baron, host of B-Inspired Podcast and WRNJ Radio Morning Show, served as event emcee.
'ALIVE 25' was presented by IWF Media LLC. Supporters included City of New Brunswick, New Brunswick Board of Education, Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals, TAPinto, WRAT 95.9 FM, Magic 98.3 FM, WMTR 1250 AM, Marketing Muscle, and Iron Revolution Gym.
Kickoff of IWF silver anniversary celebration began in North Arlington on November 20, 2021; continued in Nutley on April 23, 2022; circled back to North Arlington on October 8, 2022; before concluding in New Brunswick. During that tour, $7,707.07 was raised for Michael Robert Cammett Jr. Memorial Foundation; plus $4,545.98 for American Cancer Society; and $1,500.00 for New Brunswick Recreation. In total, the tour raised $13,753.05 for non-profit organizations.
Established in 1998, award-winning IWF Wrestling produced 718 family-friendly Live Events and Fundraisers with WWE Hall of Famers and Legends in 47 cities throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
